RESCUE PICNIC

Each year on the first Saturday
of June, Basset Hound Rescue of San Diego holds their annual
fund raising picnic. The 20th annual Basset Rescue Picnic will
be held on Saturday June 4th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Allied Gardens Recreation Center at 5155
Greenbrier Ave, San Diego, CA 92120. This is a great location
and offers us lots of parking and large areas of shade where
we can all spread out and enjoy the wonderful events of the day.
Families can meet up with old
Basset friends, swap amusing stories with fellow Basset enthusiasts,
shop at the Basset Boutique, or enter the raffle to win fabulous
prizes. We will also have the usual bbq stand with burgers and
dogs and more... Arooohh!!!
We can also use your help in
planning and are looking for volunteers to help out with:
- Donations for raffle prizes
- new items, gift certificates
- Setting up in the morning
- Cleaning up at the end of the
day
- Taking videos of the event for
the web site

Here is a preview of the type
of fantastic raffle prizes that all of our kind supporters donate
every year. This was last years fabulous real life state of yours
truly Myles.
Bassets frolic in the sun, splash
in a wading pool, get a massage, have their photo taken with
their family, or compete in contests such as best costume, best
howl, longest ears, best trick, owner look-alike, or the ever-popular
basset race.
All donations received at the
picnic go back into the rescue operation. We are an official
non-profit organization so your donations are tax deductible!
These funds are needed to cover emergency medical costs, and
any other expenses the dogs may incur prior to adoption that
are not covered by the $200 donation. |
